Kindergarten Goals

Trimester Goals
1st Trimester Goals:

Language Arts

* Recognize more than 25 of the 54 letters of the alphabet(upper and lowercase)

*  Read our 6 Word Wall Words: I, see, my, like, Mom, Dad

* Write First name and begin attempting last name

Math

* Rote count to 20

* Recognize 10 of 31 numbers

* Count objects to 6 and make  a representation to match

Writing

* Write first name the School way

* Tell a plan and draw/write a “story” to match

* Left to Right directionality

*Awareness of spacing and punctuation

2nd Trimester Goals

Language Arts

* Recognize all letters of the alphabet (Upper and lower case)

* Begin making letters/sound connections

* Read our Word Wall Words: A, an, and, at, can, cat, Dad, dog, for, go, have, here, I, in, is, it, like, love, Mom, my, no, play, see, the, to, we, with, yes

Math

* Rote Count to 30

* Recognize 20 of the 31 numerals

* count 15  or more objects and make a representation to match

Writing

* Generate a topic for writing

* Write a simple message/ sentence or thought

* Awareness of spacing, directionality, and punctuation

* Use correct letter formation with most letters

* Write first and last name

3rd Trimester Goals

Language Arts

*Recognize all the letters of the alphabet ( Upper and lower case)

* Be able to make the sound for each letter of the alphabet

* Read our  3rd trimester Word Wall words: said, the, play, she, are, he, we, be, had, look, me, up

* Read on a level 4 DRA

Math

* Rote count to 50 and beyond

* Recognize numbers 0-31

* Count objects to 25 and make a representation to match

Writing

* Generate a topic for writing

* Use resources ( ABC chart, Word Wall, Name chart) as part of the writing process

*Begin using rereading strategies to write the next word

* Write a simple message using two or more senetences on one topic and a picture to match

* Write a message that contains a sense of story

* Use correct letter formation with most words

* Generally uses lower case letters

* Demonstrate an understanding or directionality, spacing, and awareness of punctuation at the end of a sentence.
